As a marketing professional working in the construction and building products industry for circa 22 years with senior management experience and board level exposure across all aspects of strategic and operational management, Sarah has significant cross functional experience in Marketing, Sales and Customer service.  

This broad experience is the core to the approach of SLMC-Consulting providing both expertise and skill together with experience to provide clients of all sizes with an individual approach to their marketing.

Work History

Working at leading companies including latterly SIG Plc, within the Exteriors division as Marketing Manager for the Building Plastics and Glazing distribution business and in manufacturing with HW Plastics (brands of Kestrel and BCE) along with General Electric (brand of Lexan) Sarah's expertise includes Branding, Product development, Key Account Management and Customer Service.

Key Successes

Rebrand Project - SIG UK Exteriors

November 2013  –  December 2015

Project management of the rebrand from 45 individual Roofing, Roofline, Window, Sheet and Drainage brands across the 180+ locations of the business to four main SIG brands.   Working with internal resources and external companies along with a predetermined budget of circa £1.7m to create and agree a program to ensure all businesses transitioned through two phases.  Initial dual branding phase and final end game phase.  This included the coordination of brand guidelines to ensure that each part of the business was branded with a consistent approach.   

FIT Show 2017 with SIG Building Plastics

May 2017  –  May 2017

Successful project management to exhibit SIG Building Plastics  at the FIT Show 2017.  The main aim was to raise awareness in the Glazing industry for the business and brand, putting the business firmly back in the market following the previous project of the company rebrand.  Working the exhibition project across all elements including booking the space, working with the design agency to create stand design, build, exhibition program, stand staffing plan and key messages.  Industry press meetings and an interview on FIT Show TV which can be seen at the below link helped further support our aim.

Customer Proposition - Stand Out from the Competition 

May 2017 – May 2017   

A new customer proposition was developed to position SIG Building Plastics as the supplier of choice.  An offering was developed and launched in May 2017 to create a package for customers providing them with not only a broad range of industry leading products but also support elements including recognition of their skills with OSCAR, marketing materials targeted at their customer base, access to quoting app, ISO certification support via STROMA along with access to finance to offer to the homeowner via IMPROVEASY.
